Steph danced around the apartment, putting the finishing touches on the decorations before checking on the snacks and drinks. Okay, so maybe she had gone over the top, but this was Halloween and for once she wasn't having to fight a bad guy with an Alice in Wonderland fetish or a clown kink or honestly who knows what like she would have had to back in Gotham. So she was going to enjoy her night and have fun and party. The apartment was decorated with all kinds of spookiness. Roxanne's help had been invaluable in that respect. Fake cobwebs adorned various surfaces, glowing oddly from a couple black lights. There was fake blood splatter in places and skeletons in others. Plenty of spiders and bats. Basically it looked really cool. She'd even strung orange lights around, taping them to the ceiling so they hung above the room. All in all she was pretty proud of it. There was also a whole table of various snacks and she had the waffle maker at the ready along with various toppings for people who wanted that. What? Didn't everyone basically set up a waffle bar in their kitchen? And, of course, there were drinks of both the regular and alcoholic variety. The television had a queue of Halloween themed movies going on mute, while a Halloween playlist played over it. She figured it might end up syncing up in some very weird or very cool ways. She'd decided to have a little fun with her costume and channel her favorite badass, so she was dressed as Dinah. She figured her former mentor would have gotten a kick out of it if she were here. In any case, she'd definitely take some pictures to show her in case she did show up. Now all she needed was for people to show up. Sure, there was every chance they wouldn't, but that was the risk of announcing this the day before Halloween. Worst case scenario, she'd have a lot of snacks to be lonely with. Which, honestly, didn't sound like the worst thing in the world. Anyway, it wasn't even that late yet, so there was plenty of time for people to show up. And she had at least a few friends here that she was pretty sure she could count on. |
