Molly could tell he had overwhelmed Alec and resolved to ease up. He certainly didn't want to make him uncomfortable. He liked a bit of fun, but only so long as everyone involved was enjoying themselves. And it seemed that Alec was a little too anxious to enjoy that level of flirting. But that was fine. He was, contrary to popular belief, capable of toning it down. Somewhat. Not entirely, but enough.
"Relax," he said gently, once Alec had managed to stammer out a reply, backing up enough that Alec wouldn't feel crowded but staying close enough that the man wouldn't think he'd done anything wrong in his reaction. "Take a deep breath and relax. Apologies for coming on strong. It wasn't my intention to make you uncomfortable. I just assumed a handsome man like you would be used to people taking notice."
He couldn't help but laugh quietly. "And I say that to all the anyone," he said. "Not just the guys. But you're selling yourself short if you think it wasn't completely sincere. I like pretty people and you're very pretty. You're also intriguing. You have that dark, brooding serious thing going on. And your tattoos are certainly captivating. And your hands. They obviously know their way around a weapon. I can't help but wonder what you might look like if you smiled instead of stopping yourself. I'm certain it would be a lovely sight."
He took a sip of his drink. "But, as I said," he continued, "I was not trying to make you uncomfortable and I obviously have. So I'll do my best to dial it back, as it were."
