Molly didn't mind being stared at. He quite enjoyed it actually. And he'd certainly styled himself to be looked at, so there was no harm done there. Especially considering Alec didn't seem particularly upset by what he was seeing. If anything, he was enjoying it in spite of his confusion. He hid it well, but Molly knew what to look for. All in all, he had certainly experienced worse responses from people.
Ah, tiefling racism. Thankfully, it didn't seem to exist as much here.
It was precisely because Alec wasn't at home at a party that Molly had noticed him. That, and the fact that the man was objectively gorgeous with his dark, tousled hair and intense expression. Molly had always been drawn to that sort. The type that needed to be pulled out of their shell just a bit. He loved his fellow introverts but there was something intriguing about a quiet, mysterious stranger. Particularly one who seemed reluctant to let down their walls.
He noted the twitch of Alec's lips and wanted badly to see what a full smile would look like on his face. He had no doubt it would be a sight to behold. "Haven't decided yet," he said. "We'll just see where the evening takes us. For now, a drink and some company. A nice conversation. I think we're off to a very good start, Alec."
It might have been rude coming from someone else. Someone more aggressive or more hostile in the question. Molly had received his fair of judgment. But Alec was clearly sincere and curious and it was rather adorable. So Molly just tossed his head back with a laugh before fixing Alec with an amused red stare. Oh, but he was utterly charming. "I'm a tiefling," he said, his tail flicking in a manner not dissimilar from a cat. "I take it you don't have them where you're from. I'm finding many places don't. Not a devil or a demon, though there is some ancestral connection there. And not evil. Don't worry. I don't have any nefarious plans to consume or defile you."
He leaned forward, his lips close to Alec's ear and hand resting lightly against the man's chest to brace himself. Alec was quite tall, after all. "Unless that's what you want."
