The truth is that reality is fragile. Time can bend until it shatters, be it from the beat of a butterfly's wings or the thrumming of a warp drive. The future and the past, like the universe, expand in every direction as do our different selves. I find it [...] comforting, and perhaps overwhelming.
I believe that growing and expanding our understanding of the intricacies and implications of time, space, and our place in every role of that invisible galaxy of timelines and temporal rifts is why the teachings of Surak have endured as long as they have on Vulcan. One of the reasons, anyway.
We've come a long way from the Time of Awakening, but Kol-Ut-Shan -- infinite diversity in infinite combinations -- endures. We've only come to understand it better as we've come to know the universe.
