THANCRED & ZELDA.
Adjusting was hard, she knew that. She'd been here for some time now, and she still felt like the odd one out at times. Not often, considering she had none of the barriers that she had back home, but even with all her research, sometimes she tripped over something that, so many took as normal.
But part of her upbringing had been fashion. It had been a bit different back home, as everything she'd worn had some meaning, but she knew she was good at helping people find their styles. "They call it a suit here," she offered helpfully. "I should be glad to help you next event." Of all the little things she did as Housing Assistant, spending a few hours as a textile store or one of the places that sold things like that was her favorite. If she wasn't studying to be a nurse, so she could heal properly if her magic ever went out, she knew she would study fashion. "We have not had issue at these events," she paused because man eating plants and other such things weren't exactly nothing. "Well not yet. It is not the worst idea to be prepared. I would feel sorry for whatever tried." She glanced around. There was quite a crowd here, and she knew they would all get defensive. "It would be a very short incursion."
She offered a smile and motioned to a table, so they could sit. "One never knows. Proper is whatever conventions say it is, and in situations like this, I doubt anyone could find fault in being prepared." Once she sat, she set her drink down, straightening out the dress. She could hear the teasing in the tone, so she smiled. "That is not fully correct. This dress is a lot more free than the last one I fought in. At least this time, I shall not get bruises on my ribs from my corset if I need to pull my bow in this." She wrinkled her nose a bit, teasing right back. "Truly the most awful thing of that entire experience. That and the stains, of course. Dreadful to get out."
But she did appreciate the thought behind his words. It was kindness to say that if conflict arose he would stand with her.
