"I promise I will come to the next one," Caleb nodded, taking a seat at the other end of the sofa at Beau's feet. "I have such fond memories of those fighting pits and watching you and Fjord- trying not to get thrown out for interfering." He smiled, patting one of her feet gently.
The fire creature was now twirling in a circle, over-excited by the new person, gliding its way towards Beau. It was definitely not a cat. And it was not a Not-A-Cat also. Caleb refused to let it go that way.
"It's fine," he nodded. Not he, just It. "Obviously pleased to see you. It is probably bored of me annoying it. You may pet it, it's just a little warm, it won't hurt you."
Caleb waited a moment, then started on a different conversation. "How are you and your friend?" He still felt bad that he had obviously ruined a date on his arrival, that Beau had been a good friend and sat with him and listened to his woes whilst she could have been with someone else important to her. "I am again sorry for disturbing you before. Hopefully you have made up for lost time?"
