His conversation with Beau had definitely helped a lot. And Caleb already felt bad enough that he hadn't run to Molly with open arms the moment he had arrived, no matter how much he had wanted to. But going through not one but two iterations of Molly, of having his Molly back so briefly only to lose him again had left Caleb apprehensive and not wanting to put himself through that kind of loss again. But this place could apparently take as easily as it gave, and this was the only chance Caleb was going to get to spend time with his lost friend.
He'd gotten a job, he'd gotten used to the strange new town as best he could, and he had slowly grown used to the appartment that was apparently just his, now. So there was no excuse to not invite Molly over, there was no excuse to not see him again, Caleb just had to prepare himself for both the fact that he was going to be flushed as bright as a tomato the whole time, and that if he took Molly into the tower it would be very obvious just how much Caleb had thought of him when he was gone.
But Molly should know that. Molly deserved to know how much they had all loved him and missed him. It was probably too much to tell him what they had all gone through to get him back, and Caleb wasn't going to open up a fresh vial of sob story and mention Kingsley. This was going to be a happy experience, and the longer Caleb focused on just the thought that this was the Molly he had lost, that he got to see him again, that he got to hug him and look at him and hear his voice, the easier it was to fall into that happy mindset.
Molly was due, and Caleb was waiting with excited anticipation.
