"Alright. I'll do that." Although bargaining with a god sounded a lot more feasible than convincing Ray not to go poking around where he shouldn't. But Miller wasn't promising success; only an honest attempt toward that goal. At the end of the day, he couldn't speak for Ray any more than Megaera could speak for her boy.
"And hey, next time?" Miller gestured to the pizza boxes. "I'm buying. Thanks for keeping me company." Letting him talk her ear off. Ask questions. It hadn't gotten his case solved (yet), but he was one step closer to understanding this strange town and the people who'd found themselves dragged into it. And that was invaluable.
