Not too surprisingly, the mention of a pager system for tables had a frown marring Daniel's forehead, "Why wouldn't they have a reservation?" In certain areas, being a Le Domas, it meant that a table was cleared if you showed up last minute, but usually it was all reservations all the time, unless the chef was making dinner. Daniel's diet had been more liquid for a good long time, but it wasn't like he was used to just showing up at diners to eat and having to wait - most of the time they had meals at places where one dish cost the same as an entire menu at Applebee's.
Sipping his drink, savouring it rather than just knocking it back, Daniel just glanced at Grace with a small smirk, "Dad used to make them shut a restaurant for him." Because of course he did.
Although he did feel a little guilty of monopolising Grace's time, given that she was here to meet someone, presumably. That didn't mean he was rushing to send her off to investigate her lock any quicker. He was honestly still trying to work out if he should bring up all the reasons why it was a bad idea for her to go do that anyway -of course most of them were illogical, but he rarely actually bothered with logic given everything. "Neon signs would probably be easier than restaurant beepers." Did anyone class Applebee's as a restaurant? Should he check in about that? Nah. "Unless they have some kind of proximity alert?"
