Booster & Ted
Booster wasn't used to this. Sure, he wasn't exactly hard to read but he didn't go around advertising his feelings either. There was no hiding, no passing off any of his emotions for something else, while he was plagued with colorful sweat and heart emojis. He was pretty sure he could've made this all work in his favor. He could've played off the hearts and the colorful sweat as just one of Night Vale's quirks but then certain people just had to be curious and Banner had to post that guide up for everyone to see.
For Ted to see.
He was sure his friend had seen that post by now. Ted had to have made the connection, too. He had to realize that he was the only one Booster was broadcasting feelings of love towards. He hadn't mentioned it though and Booster thought that, maybe, this was the best case scenario. If no one reacted, no one questioned it, then they could just carry on as usual.
It was hard to be too down about the silence. Ted was still here, after all, he was still alive and happy. They still had fun even when they felt so completely out of place. He smiled at the laugh and ran his fingers through his hair self consciously, just in case the sweat turned blue even if it was only for a quick moment. He couldn't dwell on anything sad for too long. Not when Ted was so right... and so cheesy. They were a good fit before this party. They'd be a good fit after, too, no matter who held the other half of their lock and key.
"What's this for?" He asked, smiling in amusement as he took the offered key. "You're never going to find your person if you're handing this over to me." He said, attention moving from Ted to his lock. He didn't think anything would actually happen. He was really just fooling around a little when he slipped the key into his lock so he was completely unprepared to see the key work. "Oh... hey..."
