Booster & Ted
This was all pretty great. Not that it was a surprise in any way. Booster had been to a few of the other parties Eros had thrown in Night Vale and they had never disappointed. He had, obviously, come with Ted but the two of them had split up shortly after entering the club to do a little mingling. It was better that they were spending a little time apart and with other people. Between his color coordinated sweat and text messages announcing how he felt about Ted to all of Night Vale and Ted’s own playful but probably meaningless flirting Booster needed a breather. The party with it’s lock and key even was a good excuse for the two of them to talk to other people. If nothing else maybe Booster would come away with a new friend or a crush he could focus his attention on with Ted, ultimately, worked up the nerve to ask this version of Barbara Gordon or, hell, even Diana out.
That was a confusing thing to think about. Booster wanted Ted to be happy and he was sure his best friend would be over the moon if he could capture the attention of Babs or Diana but… Why couldn’t Ted be happy with his attention?
Forcing the thought away, Booster plastered on a smile and made his way to the bar. He needed a drink. He’d prefer one that matched his aesthetic but he wasn’t about to be picky. Honestly, it was just an excuse to get him to focus on something else and loosen himself up a bit. He wasn’t going to be a fun date if he spent the entire night pining over Ted Kord. Speaking of which, he should probably start looking for the person with the key to his lock or he should, at least, claim one of the tables so his key could find him easier. He wasn’t doing either of them any favors by dancing around the club.
Making sure his lock was nice and visible he moved across the dance floor and found himself an empty VIP station to wait at. While he was waiting for his date to show up he spotted Ted nearby and couldn’t help the wide grin that spread over his face as he waved to him, moving from where he was sitting to the very edge of the VIP station. “Find your partner yet, Teddy?” He asked, nodding towards the key the other had in his hand without really looking at it. “I figured I had a better chance of mine finding me if I stayed still.” He chuckled.
