kate & tim
Kate had known exactly what she was doing, saying what she said. She was familiar enough with Tim to know how he would react, and she was almost disappointed that she hadn't waited until he was taking a drink. Sure, he might ruin his shirt, but that was hardly a problem. She'd seen him with his shirt off and the shirt would be no great loss. Still, the reaction she did garner was entertaining enough and she took a sip of her own drink to cover her amusement. Tim was fun. She enjoyed flirting with him and was glad to have the time now. He was also handsome. That was hard to miss, especially when he was right there with his scruff and his annoyingly blue eyes.
Yeah. Okay, she was not going to get distracted by the pretty man. "I'm not sure you could keep a secret if you wanted to," she said. "But I'll certainly keep the notion in mind." Not necessarily tonight, but another time.
"Well, I hope I'm not a disappointment," she said, "even if you didn't get to be a lock." She was mostly teasing, but she did hope that Tim was pleased to be paired with her. "In any case, I wouldn't look at the lock sand key thing as an inherent assignment of gender roles. I don't think that's really Eros's style. And it's certainly not Emma's."
