kate & tim
Tim was very, very lucky that he'd not taken a sip of his drink before Kate had spoken. Spit-takes had a tendency to ruin a lot of things, and with him wearing a white shirt, he was sure that it wouldn't have gone well for him if he'd ended up actively choking at what she'd said. The stunned sputter was more than embarrassing enough. Honestly, it wasn't like he was actually overly surprised that she would say something like that. Covert and overt flirting had been lingering for awhile, partly because they were both just that way by habit and also because there was an ease in the interaction that just spurred Tim on to the respond more readily that way when it happened, so after the sputtering passed, he couldn't help but grin to himself.
"Think there's some secrets to unlock there, hm?" Tim asked, taking a sip of his drink and trying to ignore the heat that he could feel suffusing his face. "And here I was thinking I was an open book on the worst of days."
Taking a sip, Tim shrugged half a shoulder before glancing back at the other assembled pairs, "And maybe I did want to be a lock. Or at least, have the option of mixing it up a little bit."
