Ray was both concerned at the impact of earth gravity on Miller's joints and impressed that he jumped down nearly Ray's entire height like he didn't think it was anything. And it probably wasn't, where he'd grown up. He still kept an eye on him, those first few steps after, as Ray hopped down the last rung. A foot, tops.
"I'll come back anytime if I get to see you dancing," Ray promised. "Is six minutes until six because of the spiritual significance of the number of just because it's right before the lot closes for the night?" he asked, curiously, as he followed Miller inside.
Who knew that buying a car was so complicated here? Dances and offerings, it was like appeasing some ancient god.
He beamed a smile at getting to see Miller at work and even if the thought of seeing him doing detective work was slightly more alluring, this was fun too. He sank into his seat, looking up at him with a broad smile.
"Thank you," he told him. "Even if it's not our lucky day, it'll be nice to see you at work. Doing what you do."
