Having been raised in hole ten feet wide and twice as deep, Miller had only the vaguest grasp on good manners in general and none at all when it came to a proper dining experience. Everything he knew, he knew from old media and his brief time in Night Vale. Besides, this was Ray and Miller had already made up his mind that he was pretty much perfect.
"After my heart, huh?" He shook his head, smiling. "Should warn you it's probably past its 'best by' date. Smaller, too. Definitely overtaxed." Biological deformities were definitely not a topic to discuss while eating, though, so Miller changed the subject. "How're they doing? Your friends. You said Egon's been feeling left out..." He didn't know the guy well at all, certainly not enough to care, but he knew Ray, and cared about him, and he'd gotten the impression over Christmas that Ray was the type of person who wasn't going to keep the different facets of his life separate.
To have his heart was to take all of him, the science and the generosity, and the quirky friends, too. Miller was okay with that.
