The delay in movement was curious, and he almost mimicked that as well before he decided not to. It didn't seem like a greeting - more like a hesitance. While the earlier action had seemed to have been without thought - much like he thought a greeting would be - that action had been started and stopped, much thinking involved. There was no need to mimic it unless he felt the need to.
When she mentioned uncertainty, he nodded somewhat sheepishly. "Everything is new," he agreed. "Is it... new for you as well?" he asked, though he didn't think so. She seemed to be much more familiar with her surroundings than he was. He did not think she had just woken up in the woods.
River. So it was what she was called. And this place must be Wheeling West Virginia. He wondered how much of what he could see what included in that. Was it just the small spot they were standing in, or did it include the buildings he could see, and the spaces beyond what was enclosed just here. He couldn't be certain, and he wasn't sure how to ask. But he supposed he would come to learn in time.
There was a lot to learn.
"I am pleased to be here, for you," he said with a smile. Though he did wonder... if she had a name, did that mean he had a name? He did not know if he had one.
'...reminds me of my brother, Kyle...'
"I am like Kyle," he said, frowning slightly. "Does that make me Kyle?"
