He watched the way her face contorted in various expressions and found he already felt - though he had no proof to back up this theory - that she functioned on a higher level of intelligence than the individuals he had met so far, and he adjusted his attempts to learn language to compensate for that knowledge. His eyes watched the movement of her hand over his shoulder curiously, wondering if that was some sort of greeting, and he lifted his own hand to mirror the movement, his hand fluttering over her shoulder.
Her words didn't fit a pattern that he was used to, and he frowned slightly as he tried to puzzle them out. He latched on to 'found the right spot' because it made the most sense to him. "You were looking for me?" he tried, the sounds strange and foreign on his tongue, but he knew he simply required repetition of them.
