Jaime managed not to smirk, but it was a close thing. "Friend," she agreed with a shrug of her shoulders. "Something more, maybe," she added just as casually. "He's displaced from ... the old olden days," she elaborated. "So he needs a lot of help getting caught up in this modern day and age," she continued with just a touch of a suggestive smile.
Not that she was helping him get caught up or ... helping him at all, really, and a few casual inquiries to the right people would expose her lie. However, there was no one for him to ask just that second, so she was comfortable enough in her fib.
If he found out later, fine. If he didn't ... well, she'd probably fess up. Probably before the end of this conversation, even. Depending on how he reacted. "He's really very charming," she added.
Well, he would be charming if she was anything vaguely resembling normal as far as that went.
