Felicity had only the barest grasp on the concepts he spoke of. She knew (sort of) what dNA was, and she'd spliced plants together, so she reasoned the concept was much the same - though she'd never dream of trying it on a person. Or a wildcat.
"Why are you sorry?" she inquired as she started to step along after him, after gathering up her books and brushing the bits of grass off her robes. "Someone has to be the first one I meet. Why not you?" It was perfectly sound logic, as far as she was concerned.
"Besides, better you than someone dark and villainous, don't you agree?" she asked as she walked along beside and slightly behind him. He was leading, after all.
