"In America?" Remus gave her an absolutely perplexed look, but he believed her, noting her accent. If he was in America, though, how had he gotten there? And what was he supposed to do now? He checked himself inconspicuously to make sure that his wand was still with him, which it was, before looking towards the girl again.
"Ah, no," he responded to her question. "I am not sure why I'm here. Just a moment ago I was in my own flat in—er, quite far away, and now I'm here. I don't supposed you'd have any ideas as to the reason I'm here...?" He was an idiot. "Sorry, I'm afraid I'm a bit off. I must sound completely mad to you. I assure you, I am not." He took the still half-full bottle and tossed it neatly away in a nearby wastebasket.
A little sheepishly, he turned to the girl once more. "How do you do? My name is Remus Lupin."
