RP: Day Two Who: Lily, Kara What: Settling in Where: by the pool...dealy When: Late morning, May 25 Warning: None
Lily had slept soundly the night before, despite thinking she wouldn't. She'd headed back out with a list and half the money they'd been given; the rest she'd kept aside for Robin's things. She'd teach him how to manage it, if he wanted, but she'd needed time to herself after their arrival here.
She'd needed time to try to put herself together, to consider the situation from all angles. She didn't believe any of it was possible, but short of it being some dream ... this was her reality now.
Dressing in a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt, Lily slipped her wand into her shorts against her hip. She hadn't yet seen any reason to go about flaunting what she was, but habit was habit and she wanted her wand at hand. She'd pull it out to defend herself if she had to.
Since she wasn't planning on leaving the grounds, Lily forewent her shoes. Sticking to the grass (it was still disconcerting that it was verging into summer and not the thick of winter), Lily curled her toes against it as she walked.
As she walked, she thought. She missed James horribly, but there was nothing she could do about that. She missed Remus, and Sirius, and Peter, and Cas, and Benjy, and even the Longbottoms, though they were a bit older than her and she thought they (Frank, at least) still thought of her as a kid. She wouldn't blame him; she hadn't even been out of school a full year yet.
She tried not to think about the wedding. James was probably wondering where she'd been last night, and she hoped he wasn't doing anything stupid. She hoped Sirius was talking him out of it. Lily laughed aloud at that thought, pressing her hand to her mouth to stifle it. The day Sirius talked James out of something stupid would be the day hell froze over.
But maybe they hadn't noticed, or maybe ... she was outside of time. Maybe they were in stasis or ... well, she couldn't even begin to guess. She'd thought about owling them, but if she was in her version of the world, the American wizarding section clearly wasn't here. She'd even tried to call her mum once she'd figured out the international dialing instructions, but the number wasn't valid. Lily didn't know what to make of that.
Strolling toward the sporty end of the grounds, she smiled as she came across a pool. Maybe she'd invest in a swimsuit. Settling down at the edge of the pool, she dangled her feet into the water. Leaning back on her hands, she half closed her eyes and simply let her thoughts wander.
