"Needs hands and heart and Serenity." River nodded firmly, and considered the matter closed. When it came time to go home, Jaime would accompany them.

"Simon would not try again," River murmured. "He learned once." She drifted off to the side before she started for the tree line. She'd accomplished what she was inclined to, and she was curious to see what others were up to. She paused mid-stride and glanced back to Mal. "I will see you later."
