"No, that's fine," she told him, "I just... I've never taught anyone anything really." She swam to the other side of the pool where the shallow end was, "Whenever you're ready." She offered a small smile, in an attempt to allow him to see she wasn't actually against his being there.
"So, why haven't you ever tried swimming before?" She asked him, curiously, thinking that someone his age wouldn't just wake up one day and decide that swimming was the thing to do today. Of course, for all she knew, the guy could be from a dimension where water didn't exist or something.
