Whenever you post a drabble, drawing, fanfic, or link to your writing or artwork, please attempt to take the time to let the community know what kind of feedback you prefer. Why should you consider doing this?• People with opinions will know how softly to approach the author/artist.
• Hopefully, lurkers will be encouraged to comment.
• Sensitive authors/artists need not fear harsh critics.
• Harsh critics need not fear a sensitive author/artist will hate him/her forever.
• Authors/artists who honestly want to improve will get the kind of feedback they desire without fear readers are just praising them to be kind.
• Authors/artists who are writing just for fun and personal enjoyment will not see criticism they're not interested in accepting.
Naturally, all authors/artists enjoy hearing praise and we expect all forms of criticism to be given and received politely. Ideally, comments at every level will include something nice about a fanfic or piece of artwork. Keeping that in mind, here are some suggested terms:• Full-contact concrit -- you want criticism on everything from spelling and mechanics to opinions about whether the characters were OoC.
• Moderate concrit -- you would like to hear gentle criticism, or criticism tempered with plenty of encouragement for good aspects of your writing/artwork.
• Some concrit -- If someone would like to point out one or maybe two things upon which you can improve, you'll take it into consideration.
• No concrit -- If someone has something bad to say about your writing/artwork, you don't want to hear it.
