RPS: A Letter in Anger (Table 21)
Title: A Letter in Anger
Team: Detroit Red Wings
Summary: Homer is angry after Chris leaves for New York
Author's Notes: For the better parts of my brain. I hid something too
How could you? You left. Did you even think about us? How we would feel when you abandoned us? What are we supposed to do now? See you every other month or so? We're supposed to play every day knowing you're not behind us, quiet and capable as always? Without your sense of humor in the locker room? We're just supposed to go through our day without you with us.
I'm supposed to wake up in the morning next to Nick only, you won't be there. We're supposed to get through our days without hearing you laugh or you making us laugh.
You're selfish. We need you here. With us. Not in fucking New York City. You shouldn't have gone. You should have insisted that you stay here too.
I thought you loved us.
Now I know the truth.
Homer sighed and put his pen down before folding the letter and sticking it in his pocket. He wasn't being fair and he knew it. If Chris could have stayed, he would have. It was one of the hazards of their job. It didn't meant that Chris loved them any less.
"I miss him too," Nick said quietly, causing Homer to jump and turn around. He pulled the other Swede into his arms. "Tomas," he whispered.
"It's not fair." He didn't care that it sounded childish, he was still hurt, angry and upset.
"It's not. We'll get through this."
Nick smiled and kissed him softly. "I promise. The three of us will be together again."
