Mortimer expected the young man would declare his right to independent thought, even if the sentence trailed off. At least this one seemed to have a little sense or perhaps it was just superstition pricking at the back of his neck? Mortimer saw him glancing in the direction of the dark cloud before he shut his eyes.
"Colonel Douglas Mortimer," he said, being fairly neutral in tone and quickly putting hand to hat brim. He didn't really tip the hat, merely made a gesture that referred to the custom of tipping. Not overly polite but not impolite either. With his bounty hunting days at an end, he didn't care whether or not this young man was wanted. It was a tad strange, not knowing but then again, even if Mortimer had recently checked wanted posters (which he avoided doing as of late), he would not have found the image of someone apparently from several years back.
