Sookie tried to remain stoic and impartial, but the way Bill said her name was always the key to making her heart beat faster. It was like a gentle touch but had the fuel to be so much more. She didn't like that he still had this affect on her, but there wasn't much she could do about it given their history of swapping blood and sharing words.
She left her pad and pencil in her waitressing pocket. She knew before she asked what drink he wanted. Obviously it was Trueblood, but he also always requested her blood type. When they were dating it was touching, but now that they weren't it was still nice to get her ego stroked but she knew it wasn't healthy for either of them.
"Stop that right now," she insisted as soon as she was catching onto the exchange Bill was giving Max, "I don't know what you and Sam are on about, but that man has been nothing more than a gentleman since he came in today and he doesn't want no trouble." She gave him a pointed look and turned to the bar to get Bills drink. She popped the cap, put it in the microwave and when it was body temperature she shook it up and made her way back over to Bill's table.
By the time, she got back to Bill's table she had calmed down and if there was any suspicions towards Max earlier they were all confirmed. Max was supernatural and she was guessing he was two-natured and that meant he was either a were or a shifter, both would put a vampire and a shifter on edge.
