Sookie was standing at the hostess podium when a customer walked into Merlotte's. It was nearing the end of her shift and the restaurant was really slow because most of the people who came here on their lunch hour were already back at work or it was just too early to start dinner for the families in Bon Temps, Louisiana. She didn't mind though. It had been a while since she worked the day shift and she was thankful for fewer demands and a no messy drunks to deal with yet.
"Hello, welcome to Merlotte's," she said in her sweet southern accent to the man. She didn't know who this man was, but by the looks of him and adding to the fact that he was by himself, he was passing through and just needed food and a rest stop. "Follow me, please," she grabbed him a menu and placed him in her section since Arlene had two and she didn't even have one she didn't think it was selfish. She led him to a booth and noticed that she didn't have his thoughts flooding into hers. She brushed it off because she knew there was people who were harder to read.
