Before Lily could answer, someone behind them called out, "Excuse me!"
---
Harry was sure, now that he knew about this time travel thing, that he was looking straight at a teenage version of his mother. That was a shock enough, but her companion was unmistakable. The same hair style, facial expression, voice - her partner was none other than the teenage Severus Snape. Intrigued, Harry could not help himself, though he knew no good could come of this. He immediately felt angry about how Severus was walking so close to his mother and holding on to her hand. Even worse, it seemed his mum even liked that, encouraged it. Where was his dad? Surely he would put a stop to this.
When Harry did not see any sign of his father, he walked up behind the couple without thinking. "Excuse me!" he called out.
---
Lily turned around with dread to face the boy. "Yes?" she asked politely, though her feet wanted to turn the way she had been walking and continue that way without a word.
Harry hesitated, dumbstruck. Now that he had their attention, what would he say? "I think I know you," he replied lamely, overwhelmed with a feeling of warmth as he gazed upon his mother's face. People were right; he really did have her eyes.
