"Oh," she replied, putting her backpack on her shoulder to distract herself from his smile, the one that gave her a funny feeling in her stomach, as if she were going down a huge drop on a rollercoaster. She cleared her throat a little, hoping the suspicion would be out of her voice. "Well, that's nice. It's always good to get some sun. I'm sure it's hard to come by here." She glanced out of a nearby window at the rain that was pouring outside and sighed.
She wondered how often Edward went on those camping trips, if his family was so into camping that they would pull him out of school for it. She recalled that the past two days had been quite sunny. Why did he still look so pale, then? And she noticed his eyes were no longer black, but a pleasant golden brown color.
Before she could stop herself, she added, "Your eyes are different."
