Edward had felt so guilty upon leaving school on Bella's first day. Though he had gotten over his urge to break the classroom's necks and drain Bella dry, he had considered it for far too long. Not wanting to be in that position again, he had gone hunting for the past two days (which had been incredibly sunny). Today, he had seen Bella periodically, heard about her more so. He had been watching her, secretly hoping she would catch him. When she approached, he couldn't help the little happiness that welled inside him.
"Hello Bella," he greeted, giving her a lopsided grin. "My family and I went camping." Short and simple, that's how he wanted to keep it. He could hear the accusation in her voice and tried to tamp down on his joy at that. She was probably just suspicious since he hadn't been at school. Nothing more.
