Bellatrix giggled quietly as Lucius stalked off, still affected by how funny the entire scenario was. She felt no genuine respect for Lucius or his family, but she was a good enough actress to their faces. That's what counted. Her amusement enabled her to shake off the briefest flicker of anger that she had felt. Realizing it was time to forget about the jokes for a moment and calm Roddy, she tried to think of something to say to him. Sympathy was not her forte, even around her best friends that she did care about. Just as she was turning to speak again, she was surprised as he grabbed and kissed her.
It was her first kiss, so she had no others to compare it to, but she could feel the force and raw passion behind it. Caught up in the excitement of it, she wrapped her arms around him and kissed back, glad it was something to do besides speaking.
She could get used to comforting Roddy in this manner. Curious to see what his reaction would be, she pulled back slightly and looked up at him, her normally taunting eyes filled with wonder.
