Hermione felt like putting her head between her legs and taking deep, soothing breaths. Or becoming a turtle, so she could pop her head back into her shell. She knew why Cho was here - it was to humiliate her. She had spoken to Cho about Harry, as she knew he liked her and Cho had admitted to liking him in return. Now here she was, taking him away, or so it seemed.
Cho continued to beam. "I'm brilliant. I didn't know you and Hermione were going steady," she said to him, laying a hand on his shoulder, pretending Hermione wasn't even there. Hermione had turned at her approach, but was facing forward now, her back rigid and tense.
