Damon could feel his brother trying to push his own buttons, the way that he did to him. He just wasn't as good at it, although he did sometimes hit the mark. Damon wasn't about to let him see that, though.
"Moi? Left out? Don't be ridiculous." He widened his eyes at his brother, the way he usually did when he was trying to make a point. Either that or he rolled his eyes at him. He had every expressive eyes indeed, and a beautiful face. And he knew it.
He returned Stefan's smirk with one of his own. "I can have my choice of any woman. Here or anywhere. And you know it. Why should I be jealous of you for tying yourself down to one woman? And not just any woman, but Katherine's clone? Don't tell me that has nothing to do with the reason for your attraction to Elena? C'mon, bro, I know better. Old habits just die hard, don't they? You still want Katherine and since you can't have her, you'll take the next best thing, Elena Gilbert."
He walked to the sideboard, not pausing to watch the effect on his brother of his words, and poured another drink. At this rate, there could actually be a fight between them. That wouldn't be so bad, would it? Assuming that Zach didn't try to break things up, the do-gooder. He always took Stefan's side of things, anyway. Damon wouldn't be sorry to see him out of the picture permanently, distant relative or not.
