Day 13: I can haz wordz?

    Nanocat!

Sorry, I meant to do a daily post here as well as the f-locked posts on my journal, and it just hasn't been working out that way.

On the other hand. Or paw. I seem to have averaged 1472 words each day since 1st November, which is so much more than I had been managing. So mostly I feel good. Tired but good.

    Argh, lack of sleep
I got too little sleep all this week, most of which was due to That Thing Happening The Other Side of the Atlantic, part of which was due to work stuff, and the rest of it, Wrimowrimo.

But last night I stupidly stayed up till *way* too late after getting in late, trying to crank out another 1500 words beyond what my brain was capable of, and of course did not succeed. Now I feel crappy this morning, and not in the least like pushing out even another hundred words...

big resolutions not to do that again, okay?

I missed my target by 1308 words - I aimed to have 12 500 words written, and have 11,192. (The boring, detailed, day by day posts are filtered on my journal...)

Still. That is 10 000 words more than I usually manage to get written in a week, lately, so I won't repine too much. Also I know now how I can finish the last three sections of "The Players", and have an idea of how to do the second "The Network" story, and then I get to move on to "The Gambler"... the third multi-part section, Sam Gerard's POV.

So: How are you all doing?

    Not Quite Nanowrimo, Day 1
It's November! Yay. How is everyone?

Today I: Made lentil soup; vacuumed the carpet; and wrote 1000 (1016!) words of fiction. So far! may even manage another 1000 words before I go to sleep.

(Part Six of "The Games", which is now up on my journal, was written in October: but most of Part One of "The Players" which follows on from it, was mostly written today, so I may do links to it. )

How is everyone else doing? In need of soup? Procrastination? Praise?

Introduction to NaNoWriMo, except not quite
Hello. This is the official hello-post.

This year, I decided I was tired of committing to write a novel in a month and not doing it. It happened far too frequently that I got jazzed by all the writing I was trying to do... and wrote other stuff instead. So, I decided that this year, I would commit to do NaNoWriMo except not.

I commit to writing 50 000 words of fiction this November - 12500 per week (Saturday morning to Friday night).

You can join this community if you too have committed to writing 50 000 words of fiction this November. You can be doing any kind of fiction at all from a novel to 500 drabbles.

    The rules are simple:

    1. You are not allowed to make anyone feel bad about what they are doing, or not doing, except on specific request to provide motivation*

    2. ...there is no rule two.

    *Safe, sane, and consensual only.
