Pansy seemed to have a sixth sense when one of her own entered the room. One of her own, being someone she knew and tolerated, maybe even liked. She saw Daphne immediately. It wasn't so far to discover a woman in such a crowd, after all.
"Excuse me," Pansy said to the person she had been talking to and moved her way through the crowd.
"Daphne, dear, it's simply brilliant to see you," she said with a smile.
She realized that there was probably something sick that she was being so nice to her after she had slept with her fiance a few days before. Pansy wasn't sure if Daphne knew, but surely she knew that Blaise was cheating with someone. And Pansy knew she wasn't the only one, not that she minded. It was really nothing against Daphne, really. Pansy liked her well enough and they had been around each other much of Hogwarts when she wasn't with Draco.
it was more that Blaise was a good shag, and Pansy certainly wasn't in love with him or trying to take him away. So, of course, she smiled liked there was nothing wrong with what she did (frequently, and was likely to do again) and then go talk to Daphne like she was her best friend. Ah, the politics of Purebloods.
