Marcus winced, only partially exaggerated. He’d been expecting that, really, but it still sucked to hear it. He thought he’d left the newbie stuff back in those first couple of years. But he could deal with it again. Didn’t mean he had to enjoy it though.
“Well...guess it would be kinda stupid to be mad about that, huh?” Marcus asked, dragging a hand through his hair with a soft huff of a laugh. “Glad I missed the mess that must’ve been though.”
“Less size, more it’s all the same color.” He paused, then grimaced slightly, wrinkling his nose, “And the halls all smell the same. Which is impressive. In a disturbing way.” He was sure as he actually settled in he’d figure out the differences, of course, but...well, maybe he deserved the new guy thing a bit. It wasn’t like he’d really been trying to actually settle in, if he thought about it.
He shrugged a shoulder, head hanging to the side with a sheepish smile. “Well as I can, I’d imagine. It’s an...adjustment. For everyone.” To put it mildly. “What about you man? How long’ve you been here anyway?”
