Who: Waverley Merida & August Parish
What: Caffeine run and catch up
When: February 18th, little before noon
Where: The Jam Jar
Rating: Low
He may not have been a big coffee drinker - waking up to the smell for seventeen years every morning would either get someone addicted or make someone hate it, he figured - but August would never turn down an opportunity to do the coffee run. And, in his defense, The Jam Jar also had the most amazing tarts he’d found in the city. So, his coworkers got their coffee, and he got what little sugar fix he needed.
Win/win.
And, like he was hoping to today, if he could catch Waverley on a day shift, all the better. He hadn’t seen her in...well, awhile, since the exact day was coming up blank. Then, he also hadn’t texted recently.
Ah, hell, maybe it was better if Waverley wasn’t working, now that he was realizing just how long it’d been since he’d reached out to her. Work had just caught up with him, and what little free time he’d had...well, he’d either dropped by Elijah’s place to bug him about spells or crashed hard once he got home.
Or he could suck it up and actually go see his friend. That was probably the better option. Definitely.
The shop itself didn’t open for another half hour, but he had an appointment an hour after that, and then was basically booked through the day. And his mini-fridge of energy drinks just wasn’t going to cut it. So, a quick call for orders and he’d been out the door.
Vaguely hoping it was late enough to avoid the morning rush, but early enough to avoid the lunch bustle - both because caffeine-deprived crowds and the fact that as much as he wanted to see Waverley, he wasn’t about to interrupt her work if she was there - he slipped into the store.
