Who: Ryder Adams & Marcus Valentine
What: Run ins and work outs
When: Thursday morning
Where: Baxters
Rating: Low
Marcus had passed the place a couple times now, on his intermittent morning runs through this part of the city. While it had caught his eye - and his nose, if he was being honest - it hadn’t actually occurred to him to check it out until a couple days ago. He’d like to say it was because he had what he needed, from his runs and...well, no, besides the occasional work out literally on the job, those runs were about all he was doing. So, as long as he was being honest with himself, the scent of so many other wolves may have been the factor driving him away.
When he’d bitten the bullet earlier that week, he hadn’t really know what to expect. He’d just known he’d needed somewhere to settle in and punch something, to be blunt about it, without anyone kicking up a fuss and asking if he was feeling okay, and if he was sure, really really sure, and...yeah. And for all that it didn’t look like much, Baxter’s fit that bill perfectly. Outside of a cursory ‘who the hell’re you’ introduction and figuring out how to pay, he’d been left alone in his corner with the heavy bag. No muss, no fuss. While he wasn’t sure that would necessarily last, he was determined to make use of it while he could.
He’d just finished his run, slipping into Baxter’s not too long after they opened their doors for the day, he made his way around the edges to the benches along the wall. Eventually, if he was going to keep this up, he’d probably need to get a locker, or figure out how to take his stuff on his run, but for now, he’d shoved a pair of hand-wraps in his pockets and that’d do for what he wanted. He could’ve bypassed them - not like he hadn’t seen others doing so - but his brother would’ve had his hide if he found out. Healing or no, boxer’s fractures were a pain in the ass and he had no interest in dealing with that on top of Dominic’s ‘I told you so’ over the phone.
If he was lucky, he’d be able to snag the same bag in the corner - perfect place to keep an eye out and at least pretend he was part of the crowd trickling in.
