Sabine absolutely didn’t take the smallest step back when the dog stepped forward - shifting is all, since her person definitely still had a good hold on her. Honestly, the dog looked nice, especially now that she wasn’t worried about tripping over her, but she was pretty sure her owner holding her was all that was keeping that from happening.
Still, she smiled and took his hand easily enough. “Sabine. Have to admit, thought I knew most of the others around here.” Mostly so she could avoid all but a handful of them. And the name wasn’t ringing a bell - though, ‘around here’ tended to mean her very small corner of LA. What happened on beyond that was an interesting bit of gossip sure, but not her main concern.
