SUMMARY
what is worlds apart really about?

The world is not calm. Psychics and mages battle for power with every weapon in their arsenal, each convinced that it is the side best suited to dominance, and the mundanes are left in the middle, silent watchers in this fight for the world. Some are pawns on the battlefield, doing whatever the power that commands them asks. Others are hidden away, doing their best to lay low and stay out of trouble. And in the midst of this, a dark mage has risen up, promising power to the mundanes... using them for his dark desires.

Aurèle's people are caught in the middle, captured for the dark mage's nefarious purposes, and used at his whims. But Aurèle managed to escape, and now, with the help of a mage he's only just met, a mage who should be his enemy but is instead his friend, he will risk death itself to free his followers.

CAST OF CHARACTERS

Aurèle de Sauveterre - Aurèle runs one of the most tight-knit psychic gangs in his city, the gang serving as a family, since none of the members have a home or a family to go back to. When he and his gangmates were assaulted and kidnapped by mundanes, the macrokinetic swore he would find them. After escaping, he has found himself in the tender care of Vincent, a man he finds himself attracted to despite the fact that Vincent is a mage.

Vincent Donnelly - Studious to a fault, and unable to simply look away when someone is hurt, Vincent reached out toward Aurèle. He let the psychic into his home and offered his aid... but that may not be where it ends...

Tobias Kendall - Playful, flirtatious and spirited, Tobi shamelessly crossdresses and enjoys teasing guys. Hiding inside his small frame, however, is a deeply caring heart, and the telempath is unable to stay away from people who need comfort - and now his focus has settled on Dáire.

Dáire Kerr - After losing his lover to a car accident, this mage started a downward spiral of anger and misery... but perhaps he's met the one man who can drag him out of it.

Jordan Casca - Biology professor, gleeful pyrokinetic, and occasional mad scientist, Jordan is something of a mystery to friends and colleagues alike -- especially those that don't know about the 'pyrokinetic' part. His days are filled with experiments to run and classes to teach, but his nights are long and empty... Though that may change, now that a young mage has come into his life.

Kurugi Akuchi - One of the leading (sane) experts on Blood Magic, Akuchi's knowledge and experience is needed to help free Aurèle's people. But when the withdrawn mage steps into the mix, he doesn't expect that he may find salvation for himself.

Jia Ao Long - After too many years of being another man's deadly puppet, Long has broken free. And now he hunts a rogue blood mage...

Jonatan Blackbird - A little older than the rest of Aurèle's gang, Jonatan serves as a sort of cynical big brother to the rest of the group. This atomic-level microkinetic uses his gifts as a healer, the only one the group has; when he, like the others, is assaulted and abducted, he knows he has to get out as fast as possible to get to his friends. But he can't leave behind the wounded mage he found suffering in the blood dolls' basement...

Nicodemus Rhyme - A previous target of the men who kidnapped Aurèle's gang, Nic (never Nicodemus) knows that no one will be looking for him. But perhaps his captor's careless act of sticking him with Jonatan will be their undoing.

Arin Siskind - His mother killed his father ten years ago, leaving Arin and his brother Brendan adrift. Taken in by a couple out to punish him for his father's choices, his brother kidnapped, Arin turns to his teacher for help.

Brendan Siskind - Ari's brother and Jonatan's protegé, this young healer carries within him a dark scar from his past and has shouldered the burden of adulthood at too young an age. Now that Micah, the man he idolized years ago, has returned to his life, Brendan finds himself caught between the need to take care of his friends and the urge to let Micah take care of him.

Micah Coveny - Micah lost track of his old friend when Jordan's life fell apart as a teen. Years later, danger threatens the sons of the man Jordan cared for, and Micah can help.

Kyler Anson - Kyler has lived his life on the outside looking in, snatching visions of the past, present and future by simply touching objects and people; his psychometry, the source of his visions, has brought him no joy, but perhaps soon it will finally prove useful and help him to save his friends.

trio - When I write, I write what I enjoy, and rarely worry about what other people want me to write. I do, however, enjoy attempting writing challenges.
