So as to not spam Allison's introduction post more: you may have noticed me cruising around IJ with stupid-looking icons of people with their nation's flag colors on their faces. This is me trying to be spirited. HOWEVER, I can also make them for you if you want one/some. Please drop requests here! Things to note: I can't make anything for USA #1 (SAD IRONY) because our flag over someone's face looks like red prison bars.

Cool tech stuff that I spotted today courtesy of my Twitter and other things:
  • VISUAL PLAY-BY-PLAY COURTESY OF NYTIMES.COM GLOBAL: For those of you who can't stream because you're, idk, at the office, The New York Times has a cool widget on the front of its Global Site that splits up the game in an easy graphical format. It shows you how many touch/passes/goals were made at what time, as well as a heat map to see where most of the action has been, a diagram of passes minute-by-minute, and overview graphs of the action. Bonus: their World Cup Coverage ain't that bad, either.
  • TEXTING WASHINGTON POST FOR UPDATES: According to its Twitter site, you can text "SOCCER" to "98999" if you want results. (This is for another one for the office-stranded set.)
Also, I can't believe I didn't ask this before: who are you guys rooting for? NGL, I'M STILL TRYING TO FIGURE THIS ONE OUT, but the US (duh), Mexico, and Germany are in my top hearts. I will probably love England when they are not going up ~against ussss~. Anyway: BIG TEAM LOVE DUMP WITHIN? In the interim, I'll go waugh at the fact that the Uruguay v. France is stalling with no scores on either side at the half.
