Jadelyne had fully intended to follow her mother's wishes and take care of the messy corpse in the kitchen, but the discovery that the body had once rightfully belonged to a (relatively) innocent SHILED agent had changed plans.

So now she stood on the porch, awaiting the arrival of a SHIELD team, watching the shadows grow longer as it edged into early evening, true sunset still hours away.

So far, this had been a routine job as far as Harry was concerned; nothing had exploded, melted or otherwise ripped a hole in reality (well, except the one that was here when he got here). Still, that was no reason to half-ass it -- someone could still be lying low in the crowds of confused Germans.

He'd strung together a few charms looking for subtle things; he was going to assume SHIELD's nice government budget could cover 'someone is throwing fireballs and summoning nasties' detection, and took them for a walk and some people-watching.

Besides, legwork made Harry feel useful.

Fury looked at the computer display of the suggested reassignments of the buildings in the Will Rogers Memorial Center. "That looks good. Let's do it. Agent Hill? Assign people to set up the following facilities."

He opened another communications line, putting in a call to the Avengers Tower, and had J.A.R.V.I.S. reroute it to Steve Rogers's office.

"Director?"

Nick Fury looked over at his longtime adjutant. "Yes, Agent Hill?"

"We're getting some interesting reports out of Omaha."

"Define interesting."

"Our team stationed at Offutt is reporting a massive surge in energy from the temporal hellmouth."

He stared at her. "What kind of a massive surge in energy?"

"They don't know. They called in Selvig and he's not able to contribute anything to their theories."

"Have they contacted the Corsican base?"

"Yes, sir. The information's the same. They're not sure either. They called in a tech team to verify that it wasn't the equipment malfunctioning. Selvig theorizes that based off our people's data and that bit of information, the energy signatures are off the charts and well out of standard range."

He stared at her for another moment. "That's not good enough, Agent Hill. Find out more, and I want that information yesterday. If this is Loki or someone else, I want to know about it, preferably before it happens this time."

"Yes, sir," Hill replied, and turned back to the computer system to attempt to track down the information Nick Fury wanted.
