A Note From The Landlord RE: Vampires (UPDATED AGAIN)
‣ Physical enhancements. I don't think anyone is going to contest that vampires have increased strength, speed, hearing, smell, etc. That's about all I can think of at the moment so I'm way open to ideas and really look forward to everyone's opinions/wants.
‣ Sunlight. Can vampires in Woodtrails go out in sunlight with impunity, or will they burst into flames? If the latter, do you want them to have a spelled object that protects them from sunlight?
‣ Food. Do you want them to strictly adhere to a diet of blood? Other liquids? Can they eat solid food without ill effects? Or, if they do eat solid food, do they get sick?
‣ Compulsion. This is an ability vampires use to sort of hypnotize their prey, making them forget about the vampire, give them a different version of events, etc.
‣ Reflective objects. Do you want vampires to have reflections in mirrors, show up on camera, and other reflective surfaces and/or objects?
‣ How to kill a vampire. Decapitation? Fire? Stake (does it actually kill them or does the stake just pin and render them immobile?)? Dead man's blood?
‣ Physical enhancements. Everyone seemed to agree on what was originally stated, so that will remain the same.
‣ Sunlight. Vampires in woodtrails are weak against sunlight. Exposure could burn and kill them, but they can experience very limited exposure with an enchanted object or by using the modern science of high SPF sunscreen.
‣ Diet. The consensus seems to be strictly a blood diet. However, I'd like to suggest the compromise of a liquid diet to give them the added benefit of blending in just a tiny bit. More observant characters may discover that solid food never seems to pass a vampire's lips.
‣ Compulsion. Vampires older than 300 have more experience and therefore have stronger compulsions. Those younger than 300 will experience varying strengths to their compulsions.
‣ Reflective objects. Vampires can be seen in reflective objects such as mirrors, windows, etc. However, their likeness cannot be captured on film or digital cameras (perhaps their likeness is distorted or overexposed like a lens flare?).
‣ Killing vampires. Various ways to kill a vampire can include decapitation and fire. However, to slow down them down a stake can be used in the chest to pin and render them immobile.
And an added idea...
‣ Invitation or not? Should vampires be required an invitation into private homes?
Invite or not. Everyone wants vampires to be invited into private homes/places or they can't gain access.
More ideas...
HOLY OBJECTS. Do they work on vampires or not?
APPEARANCE/FANGS. Do you want a vampire's appearance to change when they feed (excluding fangs, cuz that's kinda obvious lol). To clarify, do you want some physical sign that they're hungry/need to/are feeding? That is, should their eye color change? Should some other physical change happen? Etc. (As a personal note, I like to stay away from the Buffy vampire changes mainly because it annoyed the shit out of me that Whedon changed his own material.) Consequently, fang placement. Where do you want them?
