Devon had always been extremely stubborn, but he liked studying his options a lot more. Currently he was in a business meeting and trying to sort out which would be best for him. There were a lot of benefits to packs, especially with hunters about, but there was some thing to be said for making it on your own. Hadn’t he gotten this far? Sure, but he had been lucky to have gotten out of his motel room alive.
“Whoa,I’m gonna stop you right there,” Devon responded with a palm up against the table. “I’m not stringing her along. She dropped me in high school, and that was that. I didn’t even know you both were alive until a week ago. I’m not harboring some ill feelings or playing a game. I’ve been mated before and I’m not particularly keen on doing it again, especially in a pack.” Gritting his teeth for a moment, he grabbed his beer again and raised it to his lips. “But I’ll take you on what you so kindly offered, sir.”
