Elaine had gotten a large order of flowers which she appreciated, it kept her busy tending the plants instead of simply sitting and waiting for customers to wander in. The order had also come along with a man by the name of Devon to come and pick up the various flowers. She hadn't minded him or the company he provided, he hadn't been annoying like so many others. Then of course he had to ruin it by being nothing more than a mutt. She had seen him cut his finger on a sharp edge and when she had asked him if he needed a band aid he had told her no and held it up. Elaine had never been one to doubt her gut instinct, she had waited for him to leave and checked out the sharp edge herself. It had a drop of blood on it.
It had been more than enough to convince her he was a stinking wolf but she wanted to be completely sure before doing anything too hasty. She had tracked him down to a ratty motel. From there it had been a matter of learning his schedule and waiting until he would be gone for hours for her to break in and set up a trap to prove once and for all if he was human or animal.
Elaine slipped out of her car as soon as Devon reached into his pocket for the key to his door. She watched him open the door and her hands balled into fists when he yelled out in pain. He was a wolf then. A human would have been annoyed but not at all hurt from the mixture in the can. Her lips thinned and she moved to a place where she wouldn't easily be spotted.
