The Rowdy was the last place Trey wanted to be on a Thursday night. Jello wrestling, he snorted. He wasn't the type to want to go out and mix and mingle with humans but it seemed this event brought out enough of his own kind that he didn't feel completely out of place. Plus, on the guise of an outing, he was able to watch over several members of his pack while they let their hair down. It was good for them to have this time to let off steam and relax. The full moon would be on them soon enough and while that usually brought frivolity, this one would not just for the threat that was hanging over them. Yes, this month, as James had predicted, they were playing war games, but not capture the flag.
Behind him, across the bar, the jello ring was wall to wall spectators. He smirked at Rudy, clearly enjoying himself. Trey still shook his head how the youngster was shaping up and the fact James hadn't kicked his ass just because spoke volumes. Trey was chuckling to himself as they called out for competitors but he wasn't going to be lured in that direction, no matter how much notoriety was earned from it.
With his hand around his beer, he'd been leaning on the bar and looking over his shoulder. The pretty girl had slipped up from the side, almost out of his peripheral vision. It was a true shame his wolf abilities didn't always translate to his human form. But he could clearly smell her as she approached. A smarter woman might have asked if the seat was taken first. To start up the conversation but everyone had their own methods.
"Shame you can't stay there long," he started, in lieu of a greeting. "My missus will be back from the ladies' in a moment and wondering who stole her seat." There was a drawl to his voice. Maybe more so than he usually allowed but Trey offered his reprimand with a smile.
Even if he expected her to scoot along any moment, Trey turned his body toward her, not exactly dismissing the stranger or her attempts at conversation although the hairs at the back of his neck prickled but his brain hadn't caught up yet. "Me?" Trey chuckled heartily. "No, I'm afraid you will never find me out there. Not really my thing." He recognized the California Beta by his scent though, despite the mask, and that amused him. "Looks like en Fuego has this all wrapped up." Picking up his bottle, he tipped it in the girl's direction. "You should give it a go."
