If there was any discomfort (more than typical strangers, at least) shared between the two of them, it was lost on Elizabeth. The woman seemed trustworthy enough, and she had taken time out of her day to stop and help Elizabeth clean up her mess and find her way back to the truck she'd managed to misplace. As far as Elizabeth was concerned, there was no reason to mistrust her.
"I'm originally from Chicago, but my boyfriend and I lived in Texas for a while before moving up here. We just needed a change of pace, you know?" It was a lie, but what was she supposed to say? She couldn't very well mention that she and Beau had traveled to Colorado to chase a pack of wolves, could they? "It's beautiful here. And since summer's starting, it will be nice not to swelter for a change."
