"Oh, you know," she said, barely looking up from her position to see who had been kind enough to stop and help. It was downright embarrassing, especially since Elizabeth wasn't usually this much of a klutz. "My knee's fine. My pride? Well, I'll let you know when I find that again," she half-teased, finally lifting a startling pair of sky-blue eyes to meet the opposite woman.
"Thanks," Elizabeth told her, grabbing up whatever was left and all but tossing it into the bags before moving to her feet. "It's not enough to just bust your ass, you know. Apparently, I've got to make an impression by doing it in the busiest part of the city." After readjusting the bags so that they were positioned in one arm, she held out her free hand to the good Samaritan.
