Even if Maeve and her father didn't want to stick with the martial arts it was nice meeting them. They were a bit more animated (and maybe just a tad more interesting) than her average student and parent combo. Some of the parents that she had come in here were all about dropping their kid off and getting the hell out of dodge so that they could have some off time while their kid was doing something 'productive' as far as they were concerned. The problem with that was that the more a parent was involved the better and more enriching the class was for the students. Kiera encouraged parents to get involved with the class too, honestly. She preferred it that way. So, the fact that this dad was here, with his kid, and interested in all of this (quite obviously so) was definitely a plus, a positive, for him and the kid. She didn't care if they were new to town. If they wanted to stay and settle down it'd be fine with her, definitely.
Maeve was definitely good for someone's self-esteem. Or rather she was great for Kiera's self-esteem with that comment. Some of the kids thought that the male instructor that taught the other section was better, but it wasn't true in the least. In fact, Kiera had a bit more experience than he did. "We'll, lucky for both of us because I think that you'd make a great student." Kiera meant it too. The little girl was extremely endearing.
She couldn't help but wonder how much experience the guy actually had. He was definitely being modest, she could just tell it. Kids didn't have that same filter, really, which was sometimes a great thing because they would really tell you the truth."You can always learn something new." Kiera definitely wouldn't mind having another in her adult class. "I teach some of the adult classes too. I teach the women's class and then a general adult class. We move pretty fast in the general adult class, but if you catch on fast like she seems to you could probably handle it." Part of it was teasing and part of it was a warning. Kiera expected a lot out of her students and she'd push for it too. She was grinning the entire time she spoke, showing that she got the presence of the joking element that was there.
This little girl was extremely smart for her age. Kiera couldn't help the laugh that came bursting out. "Well, I think you can never learn enough, and I like to have people in my classes, so I'm going to say that you could both use it." She said, her face brightening with an actual, genuine smile.
